For all of those people out there who cant find time to switch on their Tablet PCs can now check there mails on Phone … Oops I think u already know how to check your email from Phone’s Browser ? But hey … We got something new for you … Shockpill is committed to bring the new stuff for its readers ! The best thing about Gmail is that it allows you pop3 access (And this is what made me fall for Gmail cause I was originally a windows live fan, but when I noticed that both Windows Live and Yahoo asks for cash to offer this service, I kicked them in butts and switched to Google) With pop3 access you can not only set up your Gmail on email clients like Eudora , Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook but you can also set up your Gmail on any mobile phone.
Almost all the handsets I’ve come across have the option of email under the messages settings. For my Sony Ericsson P990i it was hell of an easy setup. I get all my emails just like an SMS and its cheap too…! Get a ding dong bell when a new mail is received and I have the option of reading the full email but downloading 100% manually or letting it do automatically !
We have published a couple settings for iPhone , P990 and Nokia S60 phones. Read the rest of the Post for settings. Sorry for PSP readers, The only way to check your email from PSP is from your PSP browser. Read the full post to see more details and screen shots.
P.S. Google also released its Gmail App for cell phones but i personally didn’t liked it due to the heck of turning on the application to check the email . Though the look and feel of the application is just like checking email on PC but I prefer to get my emails more like an SMS. If you like to use Gmail app you can visit www.gmail.com/app from your phones browser to download your mobile’s compatible application.
