How’s this for ingenuity? USA! USA! USA! In what can only be described as the ultimate in convergence devices, some guy on eBay is selling a Wii with a Nintendo 64 cartridge slot that actually plays real games. What’s most impressive, I suppose, is that the whole thing looks pretty natural with the slight exception of the side panel jutting outwards a bit to make room for the N64 controller port.
Take note, Nintendo: when you release Wii HD or whatever it’ll be called, please include a cartridge slot with various adapters for NES, Super NES, and N64 games.

We just have to trust Sony when it says that its new KDL-40ZX1 LCD TV is the world’s thinnest so far. Measuring a mere 9.9mm, this 40-inch LCD beauty weighs 12.2kg. Makes you wonder where it puts all that weight considering that it is so thin?
Anyway, the KDL-40ZX1 is said to feature wireless video reception which Sony has dubbed the Bravia 1080 Wireless. In addition, this LCD panel also features a 3000:1 contrast ratio, a full 1080p HD resolution, three HDMI ports, both a digital and analog tuner, as well as LAN and USB ports.
If you haven’t noticed, Sony’s been awfully busy with products. The Sony BRAVIA KDL-46V3000 LCD HDTV delivers a full HD 1080p picture, and features high-end tech like Live Color Creation with a WCG-CCFL backlight, BRAVIA Engine EX, BRAVIA Theatre Sync, and HDMI, PC and component inputs. You can expand its features even further with the BRAVIA Internet Video Link ($300; July), which provides access to such content as Internet video, music videos, movie trailers, user generated videos and RSS feeds.

Columbia Pictures premiered an exclusive new Hancock movie trailer on Wednesday night’s American Idol. The new Peter Berg film stars Will Smith as superhero who has fallen on hard times and has fallen out of favor with the public. He enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the public relations professional (Jason Bateman) who’s trying to repair his image. The trailers and marketing up until this point almost gave off a parody vibe. This new trailer shows a different story featuring a lot more action and drama. I’m actually now officially looking forward to this movie.
