Wanted to Curve Bullets on Consoles

Posted by Usman on July 22, 2008

Wanted

What’s next for GRIN once they’re done with Bionic Commando? A videogame adaption of the film Wanted is in the Swedish developer’s future.

The film, itself an adaption of a comic series, tells the story of a group of super assassins and their recruitment of a young slacker. The game will pick up where the movie ends, continuing the adventures of Wesley Gibson, while expanding on the intricate mythology of the film.

Gameplay will be in the third-person, with special moves — like "curving bullets" and "assassin time" — coming straight out of the film. They also a promise an extensive cover mechanic, so it won’t be just about running and gunning.

The Wanted game is set to hit consoles and PC later this year.

We give PS Store’s new video service a go: PC-to-PSP

Posted by Usman on July 19, 2008

It’s an endearing feature to have, knowing you could have tons of movies and television shows at your finger tips. There’s no need to go to the local video store (seriously, who does this anymore?) or even wait on those movies to arrive from mail-based rentals. However, we still have many questions regarding this new content for the PS Store.
We wonder if the PS Store is really ready to handle this kind of transaction and will it be easy to use? To help answer these questions, we gave the new video service a try and have presented a mini-walkthrough that’ll hopefully give some insight into getting started with the new service.

Wall-E Robot comes to Life

Posted by Fawaz on July 8, 2008

The Wall-E is a robot cartoon (and title of a movie) made by Pixar which will be presented on the theaters on the UK during the upcoming weeks. Kids will probably fall in love with the Wall-E robot in 3 seconds or maybe less, so get ready to spend £40.
This replica named U-Command WALL-E is basically a remote controlled robot, that is able to do a lot of moves, turns, dancing, and even a bit of speaking.

There are other models such as the iDance WALL-E. Like the name suggests it is related with music and includes an audio jack that is compatible with almost all MP3 players and other audio sources. In this case, the robot’s chess works as a speaker and the price tag is cheaper - £20.

Disney thought that 2 Wall-E products weren’t enough, so they decided to add the Interactive EVE robot which is able to interact with other robots of his kind, and the BnL Truck Electronic Playset.

Metal Gear Solid Movie Finally Confirmed!!!

Posted by Usman on July 2, 2008

                      IMG_0162

There’s been a lot of talk surrounding a movie adaptation of the brilliant Metal Gear Solid videogame franchise for a long time. Well, it seems like Sony is finally giving it the go-ahead. Sony chair Yair Landau confirmed it is in the works. The film will be produced by Michael De Luca, who was executive producer on films such as Boogie Nights, Magnolia, American History X, Blow, among others. The key element here is that Hideo Kojima, creator and director of the Metal Gear franchhise, will be on as executive producer. I believe that was a condition of him allowing for a film adaptaion of the franchise, but if he wasn’t on board, it would have been a terrible mistake. It is a videogame movie, but I have high hopes that they’ll do this one right… mostly because they have to but also because the games are already incredibly cinematic with great stories.

I guess the big question now is who will play Solid Snake? Some personally think Eric Bana would be fantastic. Check out this photo of him in Troy here. David Hayter, who is the voice of Snake in the video games, is apparently who Kojima wants as Snake. I think Hayter will eventually get the role mostly because the voice of Snake is so recognizable. If you take a look at this photo, Hayter does look an awful lot like Snake with that beard. Now all he needs is the mullet.

Will Smith is HANCOCK

Posted by Usman on May 2, 2008

Watch The New Trailer!

Columbia Pictures premiered an exclusive new Hancock movie trailer on Wednesday night’s American Idol. The new Peter Berg film stars Will Smith as superhero who has fallen on hard times and has fallen out of favor with the public. He enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the public relations professional (Jason Bateman) who’s trying to repair his image. The trailers and marketing up until this point almost gave off a parody vibe. This new trailer shows a different story featuring a lot more action and drama. I’m actually now officially looking forward to this movie.

LG Super Multi Blue Player

Posted by Usman on March 21, 2008

LG Super Multi Blu-Ray Player

This is a player we’ve been wishing for since we heard of the idea: the LG Super Multi Blue Player ($1200; Q1 2007). This bad boy takes care of the format war for you, playing both Blu-Ray and HD DVD discs, as well as offering HDMI, component, and composite video outputs, as well as optical, coaxial, and discrete 5.1 audio outputs. It might be expensive, but it’s also a do-everything video player that would make a great addition to your home theater.

DLO Portable iPhone Speakers

Posted by Usman on March 21, 2008

Iphone

A great snap-together design makes the DLO Portable iPhone Speakers ($50) perfect for travel. The TDMA interference-free system features a removable, rotating stand that holds the iPhone upright or horizontally, and offers a wide sound stage thanks to two independent speakers. All of it snaps together to create a handy travel egg. Plus, the entire system turns into a speaker phone when a call comes in — no need to disconnect.
