Hitting showrooms this fall will be the all-new 2009 Acura TL ($TBA; Fall 08). Along with the angular new styling, the luxury sedan will feature the most powerful Acura engine ever. And while not much is known about the 09 TL, Honda has announced that it will be available in two versions, including the first ever application of Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) on the TL.

An upgraded robot designed by General Electric Fanuc (GEF) and programmed by Nuvation Research Corp. (San Jose, Calif.) can beat most human air hockey players, its developers claim.

The robot is powered by a special pc-board that can instantly switch between Freescale Semiconductor’s 8-bit Flexis and its 32-bit ColdFire microcontrollers running identical C language programs. The 8-bit version lost to most human players, but the 32-bit microcontroller defeated even the best human air hockey players by a ratio of three to one.

“Good air hockey players can score against the robot if they try really really hard. But its pretty obvious that the human is the underdog–for one thing, the audience cheers whenever the human makes a goal,” quipped Michael Worry, president and CEO of Nuvation.

The Associated Press (CNN) reported that a car plowed into a weekend bicycle race along a highway near the US-Mexico (MONTERREY) border, killing one and wounding 10 others, police said.

The 28-year-old driver was apparently drunk and fell asleep when he crashed in the race, said police investigator Jose Alfredo Rodriguez. A photo taken by an official of the city showed cyclists and equipment launched high into the air by the collision.

Rodriguez said Juan Campos was charged with murder Alejandro Alvarez, 37, of Monterrey. Authorities said the wreck happened 15 minutes in the 34 kilometers (21 miles) race Sunday along a road between Baghdad and Playa Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas.
Campos said he is a U.S. citizen living in Brownsville. The USA Consulate could not immediately confirm that.

“We’re looking into the incident in terms of whether American citizens were involved”…

Sporting super aggressive styling, the Toyota FT-HS Hybrid Sports Concept ($35,000 est.) is envisioned as a coupe to replace the retired Supra, with a 0-60 target of 4 seconds. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 ($TBA) crams in a 5.2-liter V10 engine that delivers 560 horsepower. At the Geneva Motor Show, Sbarro showed a awesome looking bike which has 4-wheels known as Pendolauto. Few months back, Yamaha also showed a 4-wheel motorcycle called Tesseract. Tesseract reminds me Transformers. Sbarro have designed this 4-wheeler to lean just like 2 wheel motorcycle, so it will be much safer and fun to drive.
